What You Need To Know - Gun Storage in Queensland
4th May 2021
The locksmiths at GC Safes can securely bolt down your Gun Safe using Dyna-Bolts or Chem-Set anchors to ensure legal compliance.
Unlike some other states, Gun Storage rules in Queensland are easy to understand. Basically, if the safe is less then 150kg you must bolt it down. All safes sold by Terry’s Gold Coast Safes meet the requirements for security of the enclosure for standard rifles and pistols.
Stricter rules apply if you are storing more than 30 guns, automatic weapons, hand grenades, surface to air missiles, intercontinental ballistic missiles, and nuclear warheads. If you have any of these, contact your friendly Weapons Licensing branch of the police where they will be very helpful.
Queensland Police do conduct audits, so make sure you are compliant with the law! Ensure you have all the current licensing and relevant documentation. Happy shooting!
The below table is for 30 or fewer weapons.
Note: All require the weapon to be unloaded, with the bolt removed or the action broken.
