Sentinel Safes Australian Warranty Information

This product is sold and supported in Australia by Sentinel Safes Pty Ltd (ABN 83 687 086 791), the Australian distributor for Format Safes and other brands in the Sentinel range. Sentinel Safes provides warranty cover from the original date of purchase, in addition to your rights under the Australian Consumer Law (ACL).

Warranty Coverage

Sentinel Safes provides the following standard warranty on all products sold:

• 7-Year Structural Warranty - covers the integrity of the safe body, including welds, hinges, and framework.
• 2-Year Electronic Warranty - covers the keypad, electronic lock system, and circuit boards.

All warranty periods are valid from the original date of purchase, as shown on your receipt or invoice.

Warranty Conditions

To ensure your warranty remains valid:

• You must retain proof of purchase (invoice or receipt).
• The product must have been used as intended in a residential or commercial environment with reasonable care.
• Claims must be made within the relevant warranty period.
• The product must not have been altered, modified, or repaired by unauthorised parties.
• The product's serial number must remain intact and unaltered.

What Is Not Covered

• Damage due to misuse, abuse, or incorrect installation.
• Damage caused by accidents, fire, flood, vandalism, or force majeure.
• Cosmetic damage such as dents, scratches, or discolouration.
• Damage caused during transportation after delivery - unless reported within 3 days of receipt.
• Products modified or serviced by unauthorised persons.
• Issues resulting from lack of maintenance or negligence.
• Normal wear and tear, including rust in high-humidity environments.
• Loss or damage to contents stored inside the safe.
• Products with removed, altered, or unreadable serial numbers.
• Claims made without proof of purchase.

What Sentinel Safes Will Do

If the product is assessed and deemed defective under this warranty, Sentinel Safes will:

• Repair or replace the product (or relevant component) at their discretion, using new or equivalent parts.
• Where a replacement model is no longer available, provide an equivalent product from the current range.
• Cover the costs of repair or replacement - excluding freight charges unless otherwise agreed in writing.

Replaced items become the property of Sentinel Safes. Repair or replacement under warranty does not reset the warranty period.

How to Make a Warranty Claim

To make a claim under this warranty:

• Contact your original place of purchase in the first instance - this is Terry's Gold Coast Safes if purchased through our store.
• If purchased directly from Sentinel Safes, contact their warranty and support team directly using the details below.
• You will need to provide: your full name and contact details, proof of purchase, a description of the issue, and photos of the product and any visible faults.

Sentinel Safes may request the product be returned for assessment, or arrange an on-site inspection depending on the nature of the issue. Retain original packaging where possible, as safe transport of heavy items is critical.

Australian Consumer Law

This warranty operates in addition to your rights under the Australian Consumer Law (ACL). Our goods come with guarantees that cannot be excluded under the Australian Consumer Law. You are entitled to a replacement or refund for a major failure, and to compensation for any other reasonably foreseeable loss or damage. You are also entitled to have the goods repaired or replaced if they fail to be of acceptable quality and the failure does not amount to a major failure. Nothing in this warranty limits or excludes any rights you have under the ACL.

This Warranty Policy is governed by the laws of Queensland, Australia.
