The Format TL15-07 is a compact, high-security safe rated to the Underwriters Laboratories (UL) TL-15 standard - one of the most recognised burglary resistance certifications available for residential and commercial safes. At 313kg and 685mm tall, the TL15-07 is the entry-level model in the Format TL-15 series, offering serious protection in a footprint suited to offices, master bedrooms, walk-in wardrobes, and compact commercial spaces.

The safe is constructed from 11-gauge (3.0mm) steel and fitted with a UL Listed Sargent and Greenleaf (S&G) electronic lock, providing a $225,000 cash rating and a 60-minute fire rating at 760°C. Two pre-drilled bolt-down holes are included for floor anchoring. The TL15-07 is available in an Acrylic White finish.

Fire Rating

• UL Listed fire rated for 60 minutes at 760°C.
• The door is fitted with a Palusol heat-activated fire seal that expands when exposed to heat, sealing the door gap and helping protect contents from smoke and flame penetration.
• For best fire performance, the safe should be installed at a lower level of the building where fire temperatures are typically lower.
• No safe is completely fireproof. If a fire reaches a sufficiently high temperature for a sustained period, damage to contents may still occur.
• For heat-sensitive media such as photographs, USB drives, or electronic storage, a dedicated media storage insert is recommended inside the safe.

• Manufacturer's stated cash rating: $225,000.
• Cash ratings are a common reference point for insurers when assessing safe suitability. Always confirm with your insurance provider that the safe meets their specific policy requirements before purchase.

• What does UL TL-15 rated mean?
  TL-15 is a burglary resistance rating issued by Underwriters Laboratories (UL). It means the safe has been independently tested to resist attack using common hand tools, power tools, and mechanical or electrical devices for a minimum of 15 minutes. TL-15 is a significantly higher rating than the Residential Security Container (RSC) standard used for most gun safes and entry-level home safes.
• What happens if the battery dies or I forget my code?
  The S&G electronic lock stores the programmed code in memory even when the battery is fully depleted - the code is not lost. Replace the 9V battery and the lock will resume normal operation. If you have forgotten your code, contact your place of purchase or Terry's Gold Coast Safes for assistance. For your protection, proof of ownership will be required before any code recovery service is provided.
• Can the safe be bolted to the floor?
  Yes. Two bolt-down holes are pre-drilled in the base of the safe, and concrete anchor bolts are supplied. Anchoring the safe to the floor is strongly recommended to prevent removal. The safe must be level before anchoring - use appropriate shims if required.
• How do the three TL-15 models differ?
  The TL15-07, TL15-09, and TL15-19 share the same UL TL-15 burglary rating, fire rating, steel specification, and lock type. The difference is interior capacity. The TL15-07 (685mm tall, 313kg) is the most compact option. The TL15-09 (939mm tall, 354kg) offers additional shelf space. The TL15-19 (1447mm tall, 662kg) is the largest model in the series and suits higher-volume storage requirements.

• TL-15 vs RSC - understanding the difference:
  The Residential Security Container (RSC) rating, used on most gun safes and home safes, requires a minimum 5-minute resistance to attack. The TL-15 rating requires a minimum 15-minute resistance to a broader range of tools, including grinding and cutting equipment. For high-value contents or commercial environments, TL-15 represents a meaningful step up in certified protection.
• Palusol fire seal:
  The Palusol seal fitted to the door is a heat-activated intumescent seal. When exposed to high heat, the seal expands rapidly, closing the gap between the door and frame. This slows the ingress of heat, smoke, and flame. The seal is passive - it requires no maintenance and does not need to be replaced after normal use.
• Placement advice:
  Install near a load-bearing wall to adequately support the safe's weight. A protective barrier (carpet offcut, treated wood, or rubber mat) between the safe and the floor surface is recommended to prevent scratching, which can lead to surface rust. Lower floor levels such as a ground floor or basement are preferred for fire performance, as temperatures are typically lower in these areas during a fire event.
• Humidity and climate:
  In humid environments, a small desiccant pack or plug-in dehumidifier rod inside the safe is recommended to protect documents, metals, and other contents from moisture damage. Keep any dehumidifier device at least 25mm from interior walls and shelving.
• Document and media storage:
  For best protection against fire damage, store paper documents at the bottom of the safe. Heat rises, so the floor of the safe is typically the coolest point during a fire event. Photographic negatives, USB drives, CDs, and other heat-sensitive media require a dedicated media storage insert for adequate protection, as the fire rating applies to paper only unless otherwise specified.
• Lock programming:
  The S&G electronic lock is factory set with a default master code of 1-2-3-4-5-6. This must be changed to a personal code before placing the safe into service. The lock supports a master code and one additional user code. If four incorrect codes are entered consecutively, the lock will not accept further entries for 10 minutes. Do not close the safe door before confirming the new code operates correctly with the door open.
• Moving and installation:
  At 313kg, the TL15-07 requires professional moving equipment and adequate personnel for safe relocation. A standard refrigerator dolly is not suitable and presents a risk of injury. Check floor load ratings and doorway clearances before delivery. The safe door must not be removed during relocation.

This product is sold and supported in Australia by Sentinel Safes Pty Ltd (ABN 83 687 086 791), the Australian distributor for Format Safes and other brands in the Sentinel range. The following warranty cover applies from the original date of purchase:

• 7-Year Structural Warranty - covers the integrity of the safe body, including welds, hinges, and framework.
• 2-Year Electronic Warranty - covers the keypad, electronic lock system, and circuit boards.

Warranty is valid for the original purchaser only. Proof of purchase is required. The safe must be installed and used as intended, and must not have been modified or serviced by unauthorised parties. Normal wear and tear, cosmetic damage, misuse, and damage to contents stored inside the safe are not covered. Transport damage after delivery must be reported within 3 days of receipt.
